I've crocheted some snowflakes using Pepsi can tabs, and then stiffened them with Mod Podge glitter.
The colored tabs came from my nephew Spencer, so I am going to call them my 'Spencer snowflakes'.
I know Christmas is over, but there is always next Christmas.

Here's my '2016 mood blanket' so far. 9 squares down, 357 to go.
As you can see from my color chart, I am using all shades of each color so I can have many colors in my blanket.
For example - I have 2 shades of pink in my blanket so far, but they both mean 'happy'.

In my last post I showed you the aqua hat I crocheted for Sami and I hoped that she would like it.
I think she does. ♥
See you next time. :)

Snowflake idea is brilliant and cute. Mood blanket is coming along nicely. I have also started a solid granny square blanket with 1 square per day and I have made 10 squares. Sami with the hat is gorgeous. Happy new year to you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea Debi, making snowflakes out of coke tabs. never would have thought of that! I too am making a mood blanket but my squares are just single crochets squares.
ReplyDeleteAnd that Sami......oh my.....such a cutie!!!
xx Shari!
The snowflakes are so cool! Nice start to your mood blanket. And that Sami is just too cute!
ReplyDeleteYour snow flakes are so pretty. That is a very clever idea. I love the mood blanket. It will be fun to watch it's progression through the year. Please continue to post pictures of it. Sami is adorable!

Love those snowflakes!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable happy baby in a cute hat. Those snowflakes are really cute. I think I would spray paint the tabs first, but I like them with the silvery look.
ReplyDeleteOooh, how cute Sami can be!!! Love, love, love.
ReplyDeleteVery nice snowflakes! It's not only with Christmas winter, you can show them whole winter ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour blanket will be a big one, nice! Ow, and that little girl.... I wish all the people in the world can see her, see bringing a smile on every face!
Hi Debi, your snowflakes are sweet, especially, the one with beads!! Sami is looking cute and happy in her new hat:)

ReplyDeleteHi Debi, Your blanket is looking good. This year I plan to make a ripple afghan for our home. Thank you for sharing beautiful pics of Sami. Really brightens up my day :)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
What fun snowflakes and I love your mood blanket. Great idea -- so much better really than the stripes (in my opinion). What an adorable baby!!! Oh how I miss having little ones to snuggle. I can just smell that baby sweetness just looking at her.
ReplyDeleteHow do you make the pretty squares? Looks like a good way to get rid of left over pieces. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi. They are 2-round granny squares and then put together with the flat braid join method. I found the videos for the flat braid join on YouTube.
DeleteThese show up so much better then in the video... They are so cute! What a great idea!!
